Childcare Center Director

  • Are you passionate about early childhood and impacting our community? In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of operating our nonprofit childcare center and working closely with the ACDC board. The director must possess a solid grasp of team management, finance, and interest/experience in working with children’s education.

    The primary role of the Center Director is to manage the center appropriately to ensure the safety, well-being, and high-quality education of all children under the care of Ainsworth Child Development Center (ACDC). This consists of maintaining compliance with all applicable state statutes and child care center regulations and managing the day-to-day operations of the center or designating an individual who is responsible for the day-to-day management of the center. The Director is responsible for ensuring a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for all the children and staff in its care. He/she will establish policies, procedures, training, and implementation of the program to promote the total development of each child (social/emotional, health, nutrition, physical, language/literacy, cognitive and creative arts).

    • Assist in maintaining strong communication with other staff, families, Ainsworth community and surrounding area.

    • Work with Educators to ensure lesson plan activities are conducted; ensure they have access to appropriate materials for activities.

    • Assist with staff training and evaluations in the absence of the director.

    • Collaborate with staff to ensure adherence to quality standards in accordance with center guidelines, as well as state and local requirements, and implement improvements when needed.

    • Obtain infant/child CPR and first aid certifications, stay current with certifications and other state requirements.

    • Learn about early childhood curriculum and develop appropriate practices.

    • Stay current in the ever-changing world of childcare development, to enhance professional growth.

    • Stay compliant with Nebraska child care licensing requirements.

    • Work as a cooperative team member while showing the leadership ability to manage a team.

    • Actively interact with children as needed, including bending, kneeling, sitting on the floor, lifting, climbing, walking, and moving classroom equipment up to 40 lbs.

    • Report to the board of directors, including all matters related to the maintenance, operation, and management of the child care center.

    • Complete a pre-employment criminal history record check.

    • Must be at least 19 years of age and of good moral character, and must meet one of the following requirements:

      • Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, education, or child/youth development.

      • Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with at least six credit hours in early childhood education, education or child/youth development.

      • Have an associate degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, education or child/youth development.

      • Have a Child Development Associate Credential.

      • Have a high school diploma or GED and 3000 clock hours of verifiable experience in organized group activities for children age birth to 13 and:

        • Have successfully completed six credit hours or 36 clock hours of Department-approved training in administration, early childhood education, education, or child/youth development. Business courses may be included, not to exceed one-half of the credit or clock hour requirement.

        • A written, DHHS-approved plan to acquire at least six credit hours or 36 clock hours of training in administration, early childhood education, education, or child/youth development, within 12 months of hire. Business courses may be included, not to exceed one half of the credit or clock hour requirements.

Classroom Educator

  • Are you passionate about shaping young minds and working with children? Consider our Educator position. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of day-to-day classroom operations. Educators must possess a solid grasp of children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to foster a secure and stimulating classroom environment that actively engages children and supports their success.

    • Assist in maintaining strong communication with other staff, families, Ainsworth community and surrounding area.

    • Work with Educators to ensure lesson plan activities are conducted; ensure they have access to appropriate materials for activities.

    • Assist with staff training and evaluations in the absence of the director.

    • Assist the Center Director in their day to day task and be able to lead in the director’s absence.

    • In charge of coordination of all volunteers.

    • Collaborate with staff to ensure adherence to quality standards in accordance with center guidelines, as well as state and local requirements, and implement improvements when needed.

    • Assist the Center Director in their day-to-day task and be able to lead in the director’s absence.

      • Ability to obtain infant/child CPR and first aid certifications, stay up to date with certifications and other state requirements.

      • Willing to learn about early childhood curriculum and develop appropriate practice.

      • Willing to stay up to date in ever changing world of childcare development field, to enhance professional growth.

Afternoon Support Staff / Substitute Educator

  • Are you interested in exploring the field of early childhood development and are at least 16 years old? We invite you to join our team! We are currently seeking an Afternoon Support Staff member to collaborate with our classroom Educators in designing the daily education program for children. In this role, you will closely collaborate with our Educators to implement their daily plans, ensuring they are developmentally appropriate and tailored to each child’s individual needs, all while prioritizing the safety of the children under your care.

    • Serve as a model and coach for support staff and delegate responsibilities to the supporting staff.

    • Develop and maintain confidential educational information for each child.

    • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the job description.

    • Ability to obtain infant/child CPR and first aid certifications, stay up to date with certifications and other state requirements.
